COYOTE CALL
The Art Installation at the Yucca Valley Branch
Library is evolving into a multi-year exhibit. This
transition re昀氀ects the community’s growing
appreciation for public art and brings
additional visibility to the high traf昀椀c, central
location adjacent the library. By extending
the exhibit duration, artists will have greater
freedom to explore ambitious concepts
and engage the public in meaningful ways.
Coyote Call is a dynamic new public art initiative that follows in
the footsteps of successful programs across the country. Featuring
artist-painted 昀椀berglass coyote statues, the project celebrates
local creativity, community pride, and accessible public art.
The initiative begins with a call for artists, followed by public
comment and review. Selected artists will bring the coyotes to
life, with the completed sculptures displayed throughout the
town. The project concludes with a public art gala, where the
coyotes will be auctioned to support future arts programming.
MURALS
The Summer Music Festival Enhancement is
a vibrant initiative that brings visual art to the
forefront of one of Yucca Valley’s most popular
annual events. As part of the town’s expanding
Public Art Program, a local artist is selected to
design a bold, original logo featured on large
banners framing the concert stage and on festival
t-shirts. The next Call for Artists will open in January
2026, inviting artists from 7th grade and up to
submit their designs and share their artistic vision.
The Town of Yucca Valley is launching a new mural program as
part of its expanding Public Art initiative, bringing bold, engaging
artwork to public spaces throughout the community. This program will
commission murals on Town-owned property, creating opportunities
for artists to transform everyday surfaces into vibrant, large-scale
works of art. The mural program aims to celebrate local culture,
spark community engagement, and make art accessible to all. A
Call for Artists invite creatives from Yucca Valley and surrounding
areas to submit proposals for original, site-speci昀椀c designs.
